The following is extracted from the report by Betty Finke about the UK National Championship Show held at Malvern on 31/Jul-2/Aug 2003.

"There were several new sires this year with offspring in the yearling classes, always interesting to see. Besides Ruger AMW, other notable debuts were those of Psyches Spirit with several promising daughters, and of last year's Senior Male Champion, Aazari. The 'Aazaris', who all ended up in the ribbons, were especially impressive in that they were as alike as peas in a pod, despite being out of totally different dams - in fact one could spot them immediately, because they all looked like clones of their sire. The fascinating thing here is that Aazari himself is something of a one-off, being nothing like either of his parents in type and colour, but obviously able to pass on his own type. This kind of thing does not happen very often - EL Shaklan is one example that comes to mind, and to some extent FS Bengali - but these horses are exceptionally strong sires. It was really rather a shame that Aazari was not entered in the Sire Produce class; perhaps he will be for a future occasion?"

The last comment was noted and an entry was arranged for the following year, 2004. Aazaria, Aazadia and Rizaari won the Sire Produce Group looking almost identical. Click here to see photos of that win.
