SANDPIPER ARABIANS emigrated to New Zealand in 2009 taking several horses with them.
SA GAZAALIA was one of those horses taken to New Zealand.

Later, at the 2012 SI Championships, Gazaalia was again Champion Mare (see below) but was beaten to the Supreme Arabian Championship by her son, Rooh.

Tragic early demise on 18/Dec/2013
Alas, SA Gazaalia was destined to never become NZ Champion Mare.
The grass in New Zealand turned out to be just too rich and Zaali developed severe laminitis in both front feet
with the pedal bone of the right fore descending through the sole.
In the end, she found it very painful to move around the stable in spite of wearing specialist gel boots
but was allowed to enjoy carrots and fresh grass before life was terminated by the vet.
